Testing Center
Overview
The BYU Testing Center provides test administration and/or test scoring services for faculty and for students enrolled in classes in every department and college at the University. Students taking tests in the Center have the advantage of not being under the 50-minute time limit for tests administered in the classroom; instant scoring of objective examinations; and a flexible schedule in which to complete their tests. Faculty members have the benefit of additional instructional time in their courses and a complete statistical analysis of their classroom examinations. ExamStatâ„¢, a sophisticated test analysis tool developed by Testing Center programmers in conjunction with assessment experts, provides this statistical report, including a thorough analysis of learning objectives and student mastery. For complete information on the Testing Center and on the ExamStatâ„¢ test analysis software, visit http://testing.byu.edu.
Product Roadmap
The University has commissioned a complete re-write of the current Testing Center software, which will be phased in over the next 18 months. This new software will provide enhanced web access to students and faculty as they relate with the Testing Center. In addition, the Testing Center grade book will interface with a new enterprise-wide University grade book when it becomes available in about the same time frame.
